Our Vision . . .
Our vision is for lost people to encounter Jesus as He presented Himself in the Bible, seeking after God in real and personal ways, becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, and living out their Biblical calling for the Church to be a life-giving, redemptive presence in the world.
Our Mission . . .
Freedom House Ministries operates primarily through The Coffee House, a hub for reaching the people of Hailey, Idaho and its surrounding communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the Coffee House, we connect with people in the community, we provide a welcoming community gathering place (centered around coffee and conversation), and we host casual church gatherings, Bible studies, and other events–for the purpose of engaging people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and calling them to a personal relationship with the living Savior.
We pursue our mission by selling coffee (and good things to accompany coffee) in a comfortable, hang-around atmosphere; hosting practical, life-skills workshops, retreats, and round-table discussions and conversations; holding weekly worship and prayer gatherings; and offering mentoring, resources, and volunteer service opportunities. We are purposeful in using all of our gifts, talents, and abilities for the purpose of reaching others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We demonstrate the transforming and redeeming power of the Gospel by actively engaging with our neighbors, serving our community, and by practically addressing specific community needs.
The Coffee House is NOT a “Christian coffee house” as some people think of Christian coffee houses. During the week we are a coffee house that is open to the entire community, not simply a place for Christians to gather together, and not everyone who works for us is a believer.
The Coffee House is a very nice, welcoming coffee house run by people who love Jesus and who want show other people how valuable Jesus is, not just for eternity, but right now, in this life. People from all walks of life and in all different places along their spiritual journey are welcome at The Coffee House. Coffee is a way to connect with other people and invite them to consider Jesus, as He reveals Himself through the Word of God, not as “religion” has often presented Jesus. We want to challenge people who have rejected dead, merit-based religion to take a look at the real, Biblical Jesus, and to encounter who He says He is and shows Himself to be. The most important decision that each of us can ever make is this: What will we say about who Jesus is, and what will be our response to His invitation to follow Him? Our goal is that everyone clearly see that invitation and make a conscious decision about how to respond.
